How do I connect my tool to LocalGateAI?
Copy the Base URL and API Key shown in LocalGateAI, then paste them into any app that supports a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Cursor, Cherry Studio, Dify, and more).
Is my data private?
Yes. Everything runs locally on your Mac — the gateway is localhost-only and there's no telemetry. See our Privacy Policy for details.
A model won't download or runs slowly. What can I do?
Make sure you have a stable internet connection for the first download, enough free disk space for the model, and enough free RAM. Smaller models run better on 8 GB Macs.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email us with as much detail as you can — your macOS version, Mac model, and what happened. It helps us reproduce and fix issues faster.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit the app and move it to the Trash. Downloaded models and settings are stored locally and are removed with the app's data.
