Common questions
What is an antipode?
It's the point on the Earth's surface exactly opposite yours — if you dug straight down through the center of the planet, that's where you'd come out. It's 12,742 km away, the full diameter of the Earth.
Do I have to share my location?
No. Location makes it one tap to find your own antipode, but you can skip it and simply tap any point on the map instead. Location, when used, is processed only on your device and never sent to us.
The location button isn't working.
Make sure location permission is allowed in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Antipode, and that Location Services is on. You can always tap a point on the map instead.
Are the 42 minutes and speeds real?
They're the classic physics of a "gravity tunnel" through a uniform Earth: a one-way fall takes about 42 minutes and peaks around 28,440 km/h at the center. They're illustrative approximations, not a claim that you can actually dig such a tunnel.
Why is my antipode in the ocean?
Because most of Earth's land is opposite water — only about 4% of land has land directly on the other side. So an ocean landing is the common result, not a bug.
Does it cost anything?
No. Antipode is free, with no in-app purchases and no ads.
