- iPhone or iPad running iOS / iPadOS 17 or later
- Works offline — no account required. An internet connection is only used to fetch public exchange rates, and you can turn that off
- Face ID / Touch ID for app unlock
- An iCloud sign-in (optional, Pro) for encrypted sync and family sharing
- Apple Intelligence-capable device (optional) for the richest AI capture — otherwise on-device OCR is used
Common questions
How do I get started?
A short intro walks you through the five pillars, then you start with a clean, empty app — tap + to add your first item. If you'd rather look around first, load the demo family from Settings → Data, and clear it whenever you like. There's a User Guide in Settings explaining each module and the key terms.
Where do the exchange rates come from?
Rates — including spot gold (XAU) per troy ounce — are downloaded from free public sources to consolidate your net worth. Only public rate data comes down; none of your information is sent. Refresh manually, let it update daily, or turn it off and keep using the last rates offline. You can also edit any rate by hand.
Can you see my data?
No. Estora has no servers and no accounts. Your data is encrypted on your device. Even with iCloud sync on, data is encrypted before it leaves your device, so Apple stores only ciphertext and we hold no keys. See the Privacy Policy for the full architecture.
How does iCloud sync work?
Turn it on in Settings. Your records are encrypted on device, then uploaded to your own private CloudKit database. The key lives in your syncable iCloud Keychain, so your other devices can decrypt — nobody else can. Note that document scans stay on the device that created them and are never synced.
I forgot my backup passphrase. Can you recover it?
No — and neither can anyone else. Backup archives are encrypted with a key derived from your passphrase; without it the data is unrecoverable by design. When you create a backup you can save the passphrase to your iCloud Keychain, which lets you recover on another of your devices — we recommend that, or a password manager.
What does Pro unlock?
Encrypted iCloud sync across your devices, versioned cloud backups, a family account shared with up to 10 people, advanced alerts (tax, succession, lapses), unlimited AI capture, and much higher limits — 5,000 assets, 100 members, 1,000 documents, 100 structures. The free tier covers 50 assets, 20 members, 5 documents, 1 structure, plus 5 AI scans. Pro is $4.99/month or $47.99/year with a 7-day free trial; prices vary by region.
Do my family members have to pay too?
No. Only the person who subscribes pays — everyone in your shared family account uses it free. And every family member who joins earns you 7 days of Pro (up to 28 days), with 7 days for them as well.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Manage or cancel anytime in the App Store app → your account → Subscriptions, or via Settings → Membership → Manage Subscription in Estora. If Pro isn't showing on a new device, tap "Restore Purchase" with the same Apple ID.
Which languages are supported?
Twelve languages, including full right-to-left layout for Arabic. Switch anytime in Settings — it's independent of your system language.
